Fresh Faces Join the Avengers Roster
Alongside the returning stars, several newcomers are stepping into the Avengers universe:

- Letitia Wright as Shuri/Black Panther
- Thunderbolts’ stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, and Lewis Pullman as Bob

Additionally, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, who played Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is joining the cast, though his role in Doomsday remains a mystery. Another major surprise is the return of Kelsey Grammer as Beast, following his post-credits cameo in The Marvels.
Robert Downey Jr. Returns—But Not as Iron Man
Perhaps the biggest shock came when Robert Downey Jr. announced he would be returning to the MCU—not as Tony Stark/Iron Man, but as the legendary villain Doctor Doom. The actor teased the role at San Diego Comic-Con, telling fans: “New mask, same task.”
The Russo Brothers Return to Direct
Marvel has also confirmed that Joe and Anthony Russo—the masterminds behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Civil War, and the last two Avengers films—will be directing Doomsday.
What’s Next for the MCU?
Before Avengers: Doomsday lands in theaters, Marvel has two big releases lined up:
- Thunderbolts* – May 2, 2025
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps – July 25, 2025
With an all-star cast, the return of iconic directors, and the introduction of Doctor Doom, Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be the MCU’s biggest and most game-changing movie in years.
