CSK vs RCB IPL 2025: Match Time, Live Streaming, and Broadcast Details
The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered their second defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 50 runs. Chasing a 197-run target, CSK struggled throughout the innings and could only manage 146/8 in their 20 overs. The loss exposed their batting vulnerabilities, as they failed to keep up with the required run rate, while RCB’s bowlers executed their plans effectively.
CSK’s Struggles in the Chase
CSK’s chase got off to a terrible start, losing two key wickets in the second over. Josh Hazlewood, who had a brilliant outing, removed Rahul Tripathi and Ruturaj Gaikwad, reducing CSK to 8/2. The early blows put them on the back foot, and they never really recovered. CSK’s batting lineup struggled against RCB’s disciplined bowling attack, and by the 13th over, they had lost seven wickets with just 99 runs on the board.
Despite the collapse, MS Dhoni gave the Chepauk crowd something to cheer about. Walking in with 98 runs needed off 28 balls, he played an entertaining cameo, smashing two sixes and a four in the final over. He remained unbeaten on 30 off 16 balls, but his effort was too little, too late.
RCB’s Strong Batting Performance
Earlier, RCB put up a competitive total of 196/7. Their top-order batters all made useful contributions, but it was captain Rajat Patidar who stood out with a well-crafted 51 off 32 balls. Virat Kohli played a steady 31-run knock, while Phil Salt gave the team a flying start with a quickfire 16-ball 32 before falling to MS Dhoni’s brilliant stumping.
