UFC 314 wasn’t short on drama, and not all of it happened inside the Octagon. A tense and fiery altercation broke out. Backstage at the Kaseya Center in Miami between UFC stars Paddy Pimblett and Colby Covington, turning plenty of heads and nearly escalating into a physical confrontation.
Fresh off his impressive victory over Michael Chandler, Pimblett was conducting post-fight interviews when he crossed paths with Covington. What started as a verbal exchange quickly escalated, with both fighters exchanging heated insults in front of cameras. ESPN managed to capture the moment on video, revealing just how intense the standoff became.
Covington, never one to back down from a war of words, called Pimblett a “bum,” triggering an angry response from the British fighter. Pimblett fired back, labeling Covington a “maggot” and accusing him of playing up for the cameras.
“He only acts tough when the cameras are rolling,” Pimblett said during the post-fight show. “I saw him at Power Slap the other week — walked right past him, stared him down, and he looked at the floor. Now, because there’s a camera on him, he walks past me mouthing off. So I told him, ‘I’ll slap you, but you’ll run to the police just like you did with Jorge Masvidal, you little grass.’”

Pimblett didn’t hold back, continuing to take jabs at Covington’s personal life and career. “He’s nothing. He pays supermodels to stand next to him. The guy’s a bum, a nobody on a three-fight losing streak. He’s irrelevant now, and trying to use my name to stay in the spotlight. I’ll beat him for fun if I have to — but honestly, I’ve got bigger fish to fry than that little mushroom.”
